msn phishing site - whoblocksyou.net

Recently, I have been seeing a lot of my msn friends title with www.whoblocksyou.net. Curiousity kills the cat. So I tried to visit it. At the first glance, the website is providing a service that allows you to track who has block you from msn. It tries to lure you to provide your msn ID and password. Furthermore, it attempts to convince visitors by giving statement that it warranty visitor information will not be shared and the password will not be kept.

Be aware, do not enter any information to the site. It is a phising site. From my simple research, I found that it has exist since December 2007. Back then, it was called blokdelete.com, and youareblocked.com, msnstatus.net. Once you entered your information, you will notice that your msn lock out automatically and tells you someone in another computer has login. If you try to login again, you will find your msn has become one of the whoblocksyou.net agent.

What will happen if you already went into the trap? Your msn account (msn and email) will be hijacked! If you are lucky, maybe your msn just help them advertise their site, and your friends in your email list will be victimized. The worst case, you lost your msn account as you no longer can login because the password has been changed. In addition, your private emails will no longer be private and your email account would probably be used for illegal purposes. However, there will be no virus in your computer.

If you just visited the site and provide your information, only then you read this information, you might stand a chance to revive your account. As fast as you can, login to your msn email account, and quickly change your password. If you manage to save your account, you will still find your msn still has the title link to the scam site. If you manage to save your account, uninstall your msn and reinstall with a clean copy. Also for preventive steps, scan your computer right away with your trust worthy antivirus; Otherwise, you can report this to msn, or if your account is not much of important private information, just create a new account.
