HP + EDS vs IBM
May 13 may be a bad memorial date for Malaysian, but it has become a shocking moment in the IT world in 2008: HP acquired EDS for USD13.9 billion!
So what so interesting comparing with IBM ?
- Without any layoff, HP + EDS will have 311000 employees, where IBM is now at 386500.
- IBM having USD 54 billion market revenue, while HP + EDS is USD 39 billion (17bil + 22bil) in fiscal year 2007.
This striking news may bring new challenges to IBM to stay on the top pit in near future.
