Father & Mother
Lately I have been introduced by limbeetat to this song titled In the morning (turn on your speaker) which is composed by San Bao （三宝） using the chinese instruments GuanZi and Dizi. It is apparently one of the sound track from The Road Home (我的父亲母亲) film in year 2000. The title is suited for this coming Mother and Father Day as it was aired in Astro lately.
This movie is a chinese classic movie and has won many awards. It is directed by Zhang Yimou and starred by Zhang Ziyi, Sun Hong-Lei, Zheng Hao, Zhao Yulian. That time Zhang Ziyi is still very young. The story is about the courtship of a young couple in China, for more of the story and style of filming read the sypnosis. I have not watch it, but from the synopsis looks very promising and no doubt a master piece.
I am more amazed by the song. Even though is a short clip, but the emotion brought out is magnificent. The song is lead by the GuanZi (管子） and then followed by Dizi （笛子), while the background is layered by the harmony of string instruments and Sheng (笙). Listening over and over again on the music is so soothing. I hope you all enjoy it.
