Paintball in Astaka

Pain is what you ask for in Paintball. Finally joined my friend for the first time to play paintball in Astaka field at MAPACC. The experience is really great and fun, except getting killed by own team mate with powerful electrical marker at a short distance.

Going without any knowing on paintball, I was brief by friends and the trainer. Gamer must wear the mask at all time at all cost inside the battle field. To make sure the mask fit well, after wearing and adjusting the mask, gamer should shake their head left to right, up and down as if saying yes and no, ensuring the mask fit. The gun, called the marker in paintball, is supplied and always cover with a socks, and comes with a safety pin that when is not playing, must be turned on. During the game, referees will monitor the game, anyone that get painted will be out. The dead person must raise their hand so that the enemy know he is dead and will not shoot anymore. The dead person must quickly go to the dead zone. Basically that’s all about the rules.

What makes me satisfy is getting a head shot on the enemy where the paint hit and splash on the mask. Seeing the bullet propelled from my marker to the target and hit such a point, make me feel great. I do not shot like others where their bullets is ample, but I like to shot 1 or 2 and enjoy the accuray. We had around 10 games of fun. One major problem I faced as a newbie is my mask always get foggy due the my breathing with my mouth during the die or live battlefield. Maybe next time I must go slow and use my nose.

I always get killed by Kuan Yew, the marker shooter, by shooting at my marker. Bravo, 100 points to Kuan Yew. Logically no bruise is expected. Except, a huge bruise shooted by the team mate killer, using his professional skill “Belakang Mari” in a short distance, when I firing with the enemy wihtout moving. Look at the photo, the big orange mark is his piece of art.

The whole game cost RM100 for each person. However, there is actually a deduct of RM20 if you have your own mask, and another RM20 if you have your own marker. Maybe if anyone of your really wanted to take up paintball as hobby, should just get your own mask.
