Cameron Highland Passion Fruit
I went to cameron highland last week using the Tapah winding route around 12:00 am in the morning. It was inky dark just like the colour you get with this hexadecimal code #FFFFFF. The winding and the darkness make the journey ever more adventurous. More surprising you can find many big lorries going up and down at this crazy period of time. While we were enjoying our journey up to Cameron, one of our mate just fall asleep and keep snorring until we reach our destination - Tanah rata. A great respect to him.
In Cameron, there is two well known tea plantations - Bharat and Boh. We manage to enjoy a great cup of Bharat tea in Cameron Valley. I had mint tea. Not very special, just the hot tea with leaves of mint but the taste is great. It complimented the nice after rain wheather in Cameron. The Boh plantation near Brinchang is a better place to visit. It has this hanging dining area which is unique and give spectacular view of the plantation. We manage to a flower orchard too in Brinchang. Full of different kinds of flower.
Apart from the well known strawberries, and the mutiara jagung in Cameron, this trip I was introduced to a new fruit - The Passion Fruit. It was seeling RM 1.50 per packet. With 5 fruits in a packet. Beside the sweetness, the taste and aroma is very unique which is hard to discribe. The flesh near the skin is a bit bitter while the juicy part with seeds is very sweet. The scientific name of this fruit is passiflora edulis. The colour of the skin is dark red with glossy effect while the flesh is in very dark bright yellow. The cute little girl that selling this passion fruit demonstrated an unique way to enjoy the fruit that is : you bite the tip off the fruit so that you expose the flesh, then squize the it and suck the nice juicy fruit. Another way of enjoying the fuite is cute it into half, and use a spoon to scope the flesh. I found that the first method is easy and provide better taste to enjoy the Passion Fruit.
