OpenOffice make cell input as a List
OpenOffice Calculator have this function that allow the designer to make the cell predefined as a list of options for user input. This helps to constraint the user input and also reduce typo. Let’s try an example where we will set a cell to allows user to select a month of either Jan, Feb, March, April, May, or Others.
Fire up your OpenOffice Calc. Select any cell and type Month. Then move to the selection to the right of the month cell. Here is the magic. Select Data from the menu, and click on the validity option as shown.
Then a Validity Dialog will be shown. Make sure the Criteria tab is selected. In the Allow field, select List. Next, in the Entries text area, enter the allowed months selection. Just like the below figure.
Now you got a list done. See the picture, user can only input the options you just type in. OpenOffice is not so hard afterall.
