KKB - Chilling Waterfall
A cloudy Saturday morning, seeing Ayu waking up notes on FB as early as 6:45am, wondering they must have arrive at Rawang toll, while I am driving to fetch Thong up at 9.00am. Ring my phone was, and Ayu on the Rawang toll yeilling when she heard I was just departing from Kelana. (It’s too nice to sleep lar~~).
After getting Thong on the board, full trottle we go heading to North-South Highway exiting from Damansara to Rawang toll. We were still in the hang of yesterday night’s Castle Age, so happily chatting that we missed the Rawang toll, and had to take aU-turn from Bkt Beruntung exit. Once we got into Rawang toll, we headed to Rawang town, and headed to Serendah that leads to Kuala Kubu Bharu (There is also same direction where you can head to Fraser Hills). Details of how to go there please refer to here.
Along the journey, we passed Selangor Dam. The scene is breathtaking, except that the water level is kind of low. We stop by to enjoy the scene and have our “Cha Siu Pao” as our breakfast.
After the dam, arrive we were in the sanctuary. There is a small carpark area, but visitors also can opt to park at the roadside. Just make sure no valueable is left behind the car.

Entrance to The Fish Sanctuary of Chilling River…

We called the gang who already on battling their way to the waterfall after reaching the gateway of the sanctuary, and was told to walk 500m in from the gateway to the ranger house. (It is very surprising that is no Maxis coverage. While Digi and Celcom has very good coverage. ) There we were asked to registerd ourselves, just in case we were lost…and paid RM0.50 as entrance fee. To new comers, please… please read the map beside the guard house so you know the way in. The correct path should be turn left after crossing the hanging bridge and the path is always next to the river and you need to cross a few times of the river.
As Thong and I were late, we rush into it without reading it, and got suffered from hiking into the lair of nobody, way into the heart of the jungle, where you need to dodge for rotan, jump over the swamp with kungfu, and nearly got lost.
We jungle track for 1 hour in the jungle. We decided to turn back when the situation gets very cold, dark and too quiet. On our way back we heard the waterfall sound and decided to branch off on one of the junction, then we cross a river and we there it is — the chilling waterfall.
The water is really chilling. A dip will really refresh me from the tiring jungle tracking, and also the stress built-up during working in the office. The sound of the fall really nice and great, it gives me a powerfull feeling, whilst the water is clear and you can see the small fishes swimming freely around you. I even manage to climb onto the rock and have a peek. To my surprise is I saw a fish jump out right below the waterfall. To those who really wanna climb the rock, please be careful as the rocks are very super duper slippery. We remember seeing a fat boy falling from it and hurt his limbs.
It was around 2:30pm that we start our journey back when as the sky is getting really cloudy and looks like going to rain. This time we have the gang going back together following a pack of uncles and aunties that are from the Malaysia Nature Society. While we going to reach the guard house, the rain started to pour. Phew…really God Bless.
Oh…there are toilets at the ranger guard house. Pretty good in condition
The Rain starts to get very heavy and we shelter our selves next to the toilet.
We waited around 15minutes for the rain to subside and wave good bye to this wonderful place. Below are more pictures of the trip and also can found on elamic blog.
